Concerto for strings „Classis“, Saturday 6 August 2011 (flyer)
Music for strings will challenge the whistle of the steam engines in the Vaser Valley again this year.
After the great success of the last year´s concert, the “Classis” quartet from Cluj performs once more on the 6. August 2011 in the Maramures Mountains. They will delight us with their interpretation of great hits, famous soundtracks and the rhythms of Argentinean tango and Viennese valse.
It will certainly be an unforgettable melodious evening in the company of the Mocanita steam train!

Rock Festival, 22.07.2011 and 23.07.2011
The story of the steam train continues and on the 22. and 23. of July the next chapter will be written in the Vaser Valley, where this summer the popular Romanian band TRUPA VECHE will entertain the guests of the logging rail with their hits. “Stay tuned, loud and proud “ as the show goes on with the Swiss band SKIDROLA which will interpret original compositions and famous covers. We appreciate very much the support accorded by the Pro Helvetia Fundation in the realisation of this event.

Opening of the jewish museum „Elefant“ at the station area, 24.07.2011
Few people know that till the Holocaust in Viseu de Sus lived one of the most fascinating Jewish communities in Eastern Europe. The Project “Elefant”: Memorial House of the Jewish past from Viseu de Sus aims to illustrate the life of a Jewish community in a small city in the Carpathians, their cohabitation with different neighbors, as well the struggles and joys of this vanished population.
The opening of the museum takes place on Sunday, the 24. of July 2011, at 8.00 am.

Special train 13th of June 2011
At With Monday we offer a special train into the Vaser Valley. The passengers have also the possibility to participate at the opening of the exposition about the history of Jews in Viseu de Sus. The museum will be opened nearby the station at the house from the cafebar “Elefant”.

At Pentecost Sunday we offer a special train with brunch into the Vaser Valley. Traditional dishes and specialities from the in Viseu de Sus located Zipser-People are waiting for our guests. The Brunch will be served at Paltin Station (km 21.6). Brunch and journey are included in the ticket fare. A reservation is necessarily!
